WELCOME
Accessible through the Mbarara Kasese Highway at Ruharo stage, Mbarara High School has been a symbol of excellence in education for many decades. Our mission is to continue Providing Holistic Education for the boy child for productivity, Sustainability, and uprightness of the students admitted.
Mbarara High School was started as a primary school by the Church Missionary Society (CMS) on February 19, 1911, at the king’s palace in Kamukuzi. J. Kironde was the first headteacher helped by Rev. H. Clayton.
Ruharo hill in Mbarara Municipality is popularly known as the seat for Ankole Diocese. But also on this hill, Ankole Kingdom, before its demise, and the Church Missionary Society founded the 101-year Mbarara High School.

Mbarara High Wins Regional Science & Innovation Fair
Our talented science students emerged victorious in the Western Uganda Science & Innovation Fair, earning top prizes in robotics and agriculture technology. Congratulations to our champions!

Old Boys’ Career Talk – Inspiring the Next Generation
Our Old Boys Association held a career mentorship event for S.4 and S.6 students. Speakers included doctors, engineers, teachers, and tech experts. Many thanks to our alumni for giving back!

School Choir Wins Diocesan Music Competition
Our school choir lifted the trophy in the Diocese-wide music competition. Their angelic voices and tight harmony wowed the judges. Next stop: National Music Gala!

Staff Capacity Building Workshop Held
All teachers attended a workshop on the New Lower Secondary Curriculum (NLSC) and digital teaching methods. The workshop was led by officials from NCDC and Ministry of Education.
